Petrobras closes contract for Natural Gas Unit at Comperj

China’s Shandong Kerui and the Brazilian Potential Method signed with Petrobras the contract for the construction of Comperj’s Natural Gas Unit. The final value of the agreement is not yet known.

In a tender promoted last year by the oil company, Shandong offered R$ 1.947 million to make the EPC (engineering, supplies and construction) of Gas Unit, surpassing the offers presented by Fluor, Cobra / Qualiman and Tecnimont.

The values proposed by the competitors (R$ 2,284,738 / R$ 2,284,791.00 and R$ 4,246,175, respectively) were considered high by the oil company, leading to the declassification of the offers.

Comperj’s start-up is scheduled for 2023. The Gas Unit will process the natural gas from the Santos Basin pre-salt fields from the route 3 pipeline.

The Asian company was only waiting to sign this contract to formalize the subcontracting of the project with Chemtech, which will be responsible for developing the unit’s engineering detailing project.
