IBAMA has issued to Petrobras the installation license for the P-68 platform, FPSO that will produce in the field of Berbigão, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The license, which is valid until March 12, 2022, also applies to the subsea system of the project.
In December of last year, the P-68 arrived at the Jurong Shipyard, in Aracruz (ES). The unit is the third in the series of replicates that will meet the oil production demands of the Santos Basin pre-salt. The platform has a daily processing capacity of 150,000 barrels of oil and 6 million cubic meters of natural gas, in addition to being able to stock up to 1.6 million barrels of oil.
The FPSO will be installed at a water depth of 2.2 thousand meters. Jurong, which has already hoisted all the modules for the platform, will be responsible for the platform’s carryover.
The P-68 is one of seven platforms that Petrobras intends to put into operation this year. Two of the units will be installed in the first half and the other five in the second half. The company also concluded this year the development of the production of the Lula field, the first giant discovery of the pre-salt of the Santos Basin.
Petrobras is currently bidding to charter five FPSOs for entry into operation between 2021 and 2022. In addition to the second definitive unit of the Mero field, it is also contracting two platforms for the revitalization of the Marlim field, the fifth platform in the field of Sepia and a new FPSO for the Parque das Baleias, offshore Espírito Santo.
