Seismic activities in the 14th round blocks

Petrobras intends to begin seismic activities in offshore areas from the 14th Round of bidding in 2017 this year. According to E & P director Solange Guedes, this was a commitment with the partners in the blocks.

“One of the very positive side effects of these strategic partnerships are alignments of interest. We are committed to our partners to start seismic activities in the offshore blocks in 2018, “the director told a news conference on Thursday.

In 2017, Petrobras won six blocks in the 14th Round, all in the Campos Basin, in partnership with Exxon. The company also took the Entorno de Sapinhoá area in the Santos Basin during the 2nd Round of Sharing, in addition to Peroba in Santos and Alto de Cabo Frio Central in Campos, in the 3rd Round of Sharing. In these areas, the partners are Shell, Repsol Sinopec, CNODC and BP.

Topazio

Also foreseen for 2018 is the conclusion of the negotiations of the onshore areas that are for sale in the package known as “Topazio Project”. During a webcast with analysts, the director explained that Petrobras has already excluded the assets of the investments planned for 2019. “For some time these assets have not been a priority in our investment allocation plan,” explained Solange.

The sale began in September 2017 and includes five onshore poles, with a total of 19 concessions distributed by the states of Ceará, Sergipe and Rio Grande do Norte.
