Fugro has signed a contract with Petrobras to carry out a campaign with an autonomous submarine robot (AUV) in Libra, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The Dutch company has surpassed the offers presented by Bratexco Representations and Services, DOF Subsea, Gardline, CP + and the EGS group.
The scope includes services of acquisition and processing of geophysical data and the delivery of products and reports for service to the area of Libra, Petrobras informed via press office.
According to the company, the main objectives are the deepening of the geological characterization of the seabed and subsurface to be used in the projects of the region.
The work is expected to begin this semester, according to the mobilization plan.
Petrobras announced two other bids to contract surveys with AUVs, one for the Roncador field, led by Petrustech, the other for Barracuda and Caratinga, in which DOF presented the lowest price. According to Petrobras, these are still ongoing, with no contracts signed so far.
Brasil Energia Petroleum asked the oil company if it plans to contract AUVs for other projects this year, but the state company stated that, for strategic reasons, it would not respond to that question.
