It will be the first system to operate in the area of onerous assignment
The P-74 platform ship arrived on Saturday (3/3), at the Búzios field in the Santos Basin pre-salt. The operation is expected to start in the first half of this year. This project has a design similar to the ones already in operation by Petrobras in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin and has incorporated all the improvements and experiences of the company. Given its complexity, however, Búzios represents a unique challenge in the oil exploration and production segment.
The P-74 is part of the first definitive system that will produce the main area under contract for the Onerous Assignment of 2010. In this way, Búzios, whose declaration of commerciality occurred in December 2013, will come into operation in less than 8 years after signature of the contract.
It will be the first of a series of seven platforms scheduled to come on stream in Brazil in 2018, aimed at increasing the company’s production curve of the 2018-2022 Business and Management Plan (PNG).
In addition to the P-74, P-75 and P-76 units (for the second half of this year) are scheduled; P-77 (2019) and Búzios 5 (2021). Each will have a daily capacity of up to 150,000 barrels of oil and 7 million cubic meters of gas.
“There is no doubt that we are facing another important project for our company, which will play a decisive role in our recovery and in our production curve,” said the director of Exploration and Production, Solange Guedes. “The five production systems of this field will be able to incorporate 750,000 barrels a day into the company’s installed capacity when they are fully loaded. Together, these projects will produce during the life of the project the volume contracted in the Onerous Assignment for the Búzios field, which is very significant, “said the director. The current forecast, which is included in the contract signed in 2010, forecasts more than 3 billion barrels.
P-74 Platform FPSO type (unit that produces, stores and transfers oil), will be anchored about 200 km of the coast, positioned in water depth of 2 thousand meters. The platform will be connected to 9 producing wells.
