Chevron is seeking partners to compete for projects in the 15th round of the ANP. The oil company is operator of the Polvo field, in the Campos Basin, and the exploratory block CE-M-715, won in the 11th round in partnership with Ecopetrol.
The 15th round of the ANP will offer 70 blocks in the sedimentary basins of Ceará, Potiguar, Sergipe-Alagoas, Campos and Santos and in the terrestrial basins of Parnaíba and Paraná, totaling 95.5 thousand km² of area. Local content commitments will be defined in specific clauses of the contract and will not be adopted as a criterion for judging the bids.
Nine of the 11 sectors that will be offered in the 15th round of the ANP, which will be held on March 29th, do not have 3D data acquisition. Only three sectors in the Potiguar Basin, two in deep water – SPOT-AP1 and SPOT-AP2, and a shallow water sector (SPOT-AR1), have 3D data already acquired. All 11 sectors have 2D data raised.
The Campos and Santos basins are the regions with the highest amount of 2D seismic data collected. In all, 38.4 thousand and 34.3 thousand km, respectively, were acquired in the area where the 17 blocks will be offered, nine in Campos and eight in Santos. On land, the Parnaíba Basin accounts for the largest volume of 2D data, with 13.7 thousand km of data acquired.
The areas also have 257 drilled wells in the 11 sectors, with the Potiguar Basin offshore being the region with the largest number of wells drilled, with 80 wells in three sectors. In the sectors that will be offered in the Campos and Santos basins, which should be the main highlight of the competition, there are 27 and 22 wells, respectively.
Onshore, there are data from 57 wells drilled in the three sectors that will be offered in the auction, with nine wells in the only sector of the Paraná Basin and another 48 wells in the two sectors of the Parnaíba Basin. There are also 26,100 km of acquired 2D seismic data on the onshore part of the auction.
