Petrobras has taken an important step in its exploration in the pre-salt layer. Petrobras completed an adjacent pioneer well in Libra, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. Located at a water depth of 2,252 meters. The well 4BRSA1346RJS has not yet had evidence of hydrocarbons, according to data from the National Petroleum Agency (ANP).

The drilling began on January 22 of this year and the completion of the well at the beginning of June. The activity was carried out by the drillship West Carina, that belongs to Seadrill.

The last well in Libra that had evidence of proven oil and gas was 3BRSA1343RJS, in November 2016, at a water depth of 2,026 meters.
