With a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, the government held the auction of inactive oil and gas fields. The operation was carried out this Thursday (11) and granted eight areas in three sedimentary basins. R $ 7.9 million were collected, and the amount surpassed the forecast for the minimum of the signing bonus, estimated at R $ 451 thousand.
The information comes from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), which is responsible for conducting the auction. This operation, called the 4th Round of Bids for Areas with Marginal Accumulations, was the first of four scheduled for this year. The auction is also the smallest for 2017.
The schedule for this year is to carry out the remainder of the operations in the second half . There will be two auctions of pre-salt areas, under a sharing regime, and a conventional auction, under a concession regime.
Granted areas
In the round of this Thursday, nine areas were offered in Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia. The names of the areas offered were: Garça Branca, Rio Mariricu (Espírito Santo Basin), Iraúna, Northwest of Morro Rosado, Urutau (Potiguar Basin), Araçás Leste, Itaparica, Jacumirim and Quiricó Valley (Recôncavo Basin).
These areas are located in mature terrestrial sedimentary basins, and their exploitation is considered vital to the oil activity of the affected regions. The concession establishes that the existing production infrastructure is used.
