The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) projects that the ten auctions to be held in 2017, 2018 and 2019 may result in direct investment of US $ 83 billion in the oil and gas sector.
The calculations, according to Décio Oddone, director general of the agency, are probabilistic and consider the chance of exploratory success of the companies.
It is not yet possible to estimate the amount that the government will collect with bonuses of these auctions. Only with the four scheduled for 2017 will the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) expect to obtain R $ 8.5 billion.
