13th Bidding Round of Exploratory Blocks – Oct 7 and 8, 2015

The National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) published on JUNE 9, 2015 in the Official Gazette, Resolution No. 1/2015, which authorizes ANP, National Petroleum Agency, to hold the 13^th Bidding Round of Exploratory Blocks . There will be offered 266 exploration blocks, totaling an area of 125,045.9 square kilometers. The Council also approved the inclusion of inactive areas with marginal accumulations.

Of the total blocks, 182 are located in the onshore basins of the Amazon, Parnaíba, Potiguar and Reconcavo and 84 in the offshore basins of Sergipe-Alagoas, Jacuípe, Espírito Santo, Campos, Camamu-Almada and Pelotas.

Also offered 11 inactive areas with marginal accumulations in the basins of Recôncavo, Tucano Sul, Paraná, Barreirinhas, Potiguar and Espírito Santo, totaling an area of 58.4 km².

The 13th Bidding Round is expected to occur at 7 and 8 October 2015.
