Former Hercules CEO to head Tidewater

U.S. offshore support vessel owner Tidewater has appointed a new president and chief executive officer (CEO), effective March 5. Tidewater said on Thursday that John T. Rynd would become the company’s new president, CEO, and board member. He will replace Larry T. Rigdon who served as interim president and CEO since October 2017. Read more

Saipem picks GranEnergia’s accommodation unit for Kaombo

Italian offshore contractor Saipem has awarded GranEnergia, a Brazilian offshore accommodation solutions provider and a subsidiary of GranInvestimentos, a contract for the DP3 compact semi-submersible vessel Venus. GranEnergia said on Thursday that the contract entails the provision of offshore accommodation services for Total’s Kaombo project offshore Angola. Read more

Diamond Offshore scoops new rig deals

Ocean Valor has been working for Petrobras since its delivery and it was supposed to work for the Brazilian oil giant until October 2018. However, in August 2016 Petrobras terminated the contract two years earlier than planned prompting Diamond to file a lawsuit against Petrobras for unlawful termination. Read more

DOF grabs more work for its diverse fleet

Norwegian vessel provider DOF Group has been awarded several contracts through its subsidiaries DOF Rederi and DOF Subsea. DOF said on Monday that DOF Rederi has been awarded a one-year contract for the platform supplier Skandi Captain vessel for Peterson Den Helder, with start date in February. Read more
