Feb 24 (PN) Petrobras President Magda Chambriard announced that the company completed the anchoring of the P-79 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, in record time. The activity was completed in just 12 days, an unprecedented milestone for the company among its own platforms. In total, 11 support vessels were mobilized and 26 anchoring systems were connected.
“Each connection made reinforces the operational maturity of our team and the continuous commitment to the highest technical and safety standards in offshore operations. Another significant milestone for Anchoring, consolidating our ability to deliver excellent results and overcome challenges with efficiency and integration,” wrote Magda on her LinkedIn profile.
The FPSO P-79 is one of 12 units planned for installation in the Búzios field, joining the other seven platforms already in operation: FPSOs P-74, P-75, P-76, P-77, Almirante Barroso, Almirante Tamandaré, and P-78. The P-79 has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil, in addition to compressing 7.2 million m³ of gas per day.
The Búzios field is located in ultra-deep waters of the Santos Basin (depth up to 2,100 meters), 180 km off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The FPSO P-79 is part of the Búzios 8 Production Development project, which includes 14 wells, 8 producers and 6 WAG injectors.
