Nov. 14 – The Brazilian Institute of the Environment (Ibama) issued this week the operating license for the FPSO P-78 in the Búzios field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin. The platform has been in the field since September, awaiting approval from the environmental agency to begin operating. The first oil from the unit is expected in the coming days.
The P-78 will have 13 wells, including 6 producers (with 2 convertible to injectors), 6 WAG injectors, and 1 gas injector. The unit will be interconnected with rigid pipelines for production, injection, and gas export, and flexible pipelines for service and gas lift lines.
The FPSO P-78 is the seventh unit planned for installation in the field and will join the other six platforms already operating there: FPSOs P-74, P-75, P-76, P-77, Almirante Barroso, and Almirante Tamandaré. The vessel has a production capacity of 180,000 barrels of oil, in addition to compressing 7.2 million m³ of gas per day.
