Petrobras requests authorization from Ibama to drill three more wells in the Foz do Amazonas Basin

Oct. 24 – Petrobras has requested authorization from Ibama (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) to drill three contingent wells in the block.

The oil company is currently drilling the Morpho well, in a water depth of 2,887 meters – the drilling is expected to last approximately five months. The drillship used in the operation is the ODN-II, owned by Foresea.

The three contingent wells planned by the company will be named Manga, Maracujá, and Marolo, located in water depths between 2,760 and 3,007 meters, approximately 170 km offshore. However, drilling of these wells will only begin after Petrobras evaluates the results of the Morpho well.

While advancing in block FZA-M-059, Petrobras continues to pursue the drilling licensing process for blocks FZA-M-57, FZA-M-86, FZA-M-88, FZA-M-125 and FZA-M-127, also in the Foz do Amazonas Basin..
