Aug.18 (Reuters) – Petrobras signed a R$3.2 billion contract with the offshore support vessel company OceanPact for the charter of four RSV vessels for four years, the service provider told Reuters on Monday (18).
The vessels will be used in remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations for inspection of underwater structures, preventive and corrective maintenance, installation and removal of underwater equipment, among other activities, at Petrobras units. The contracted vessels are named Parcel do Bandolim, Parcel das Timbebas, Parcel das Paredes, and Parcel dos Reis.
OceanPact explained that it will be responsible for the complete operation of both the vessels and the ROVs, which are capable of operating at depths of up to 3,000 meters and have a wide range of tools for various subsea activities.
In December 2024, the company announced the signing of a R$697 million contract with Petrobras for the charter of an Offshore Terminal Support Vessel (OTSV), also for a four-year term, called Ilha do Mosqueiro.
With a fleet of 28 owned vessels, including RSVs, OSRVs, PSVs, RVs, MPSVs, and AHTSs, and the largest inventory of offshore emergency response equipment in Latin America, OceanPact serves all oil and gas operators in Brazil.
