(PN) Continuing its pre-salt drilling program, Petrobras began drilling well 9-BUZ-103D-RJS in the Buzios field, in the Campos Basin, in 1,700 meters of water. The operation is being conducted by the drillship Atlantic Zonda, owned by Eldorado Drilling and operated by Ventura Offshore.
In February of this year, the company announced the discovery of oil in well 9-BUZ-99D-RJS, located in the western portion of the Buzios field. At the time, Petrobras reported that this was a new accumulation in a zone below the main reservoir, reinforcing “the pre-salt potential in the Buzios field.”
Last week Petrobras restarted drilling wildcat well 1-BRSA-1401D-RJS in the Agua Marinha block, also in the Campos Basin pre-salt layer. It also drilled well 3-BRSA-1400A-SPS in the Aram block, located in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer.
