The company was contracted by Allseas to supply 120 km of mechanically lined pipes (MLP) with anti-corrosive alloys for the Buzios field, operated by Petrobras in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer. According to Cladtek, this is the largest project in the history of the Brazilian oil company in terms of MLP manufacturing scope.
The MLP system will operate in ultra-deep and dynamic conditions, at depths of approximately 2,000 meters, connecting 16 wells to the FPSO through risers, water alternating gas (WAG) lines and flowlines. Approximately 50 km of the MLP will be dedicated to gas and CO₂ injection, supporting the capture project. The MLP system will operate in ultra-deep and dynamic conditions, at depths of approximately 2,000 meters, connecting 16 wells to the FPSO through risers, water-altering gas (WAG) lines and flowlines. Approximately 50 km of the MLP will be dedicated to gas and CO₂ injection, supporting Petrobras’ carbon capture and storage (CCUS) project.
The contract will be delivered with a high percentage of local content. The MLP will be manufactured at Cladtek Brasil’s facilities, delivered by a 100% Brazilian workforce, closely aligning with Allseas and Petrobras’ local content commitments.
“Petrobras has been highlighting the importance of the Buzios field and the timeline for first oil from Buzios 10, and we are increasing our capacity to support this timeline with further investment in Brazil,” said Eduardo Menezes, Cladtek’s Senior Vice President of Global Engineering, Projects and Americas Region. “This contract reflects our continued role in Brazil’s offshore development, with a total of 120 km of MLP, including CCUS support through approximately 50 km of MLP for gas and CO₂ injection. Our local operations and technical capabilities position us to meet current and future project demands,” he concluded.
