Portuguese company Mota-Engil announced that it has signed a new and important contract with Petrobras worth approximately R$1.56 billion (around 240 million euros). The agreement is estimated to last 60 months and involves a wide range of services related to the decommissioning of subsea assets in three oil fields in the Campos Basin: Marlim, Marlim Sul and Marlim Leste.
According to the company’s market relations representative, Luís Silva, the scope of the contract includes activities such as engineering, preparation, recovery and removal of approximately 420 kilometers of flexible lines — including pipelines, hydraulic umbilicals and electrical cables — in addition to the removal of subsea components and equipment. The work will be carried out in deep waters, at depths ranging from 700 to 2,000 meters.
Mota-Engil emphasizes that the new contract reinforces its presence in the Brazilian oil and gas sector and expands its portfolio of projects in the country, which already totals approximately 900 million euros. The company also attributes the achievement to the good performance shown in previous contracts with the Brazilian state-owned company.
As we reported last week, Mota-Engil had already signed a contract with Petrobras, worth approximately R$1.61 billion, for the execution of a series of maintenance, construction and assembly services on offshore oil platforms.
