(TN) According to recent data released in the Oil and Natural Gas Production Bulletin of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), four FPSOs operated by MODEC are among the 10 largest producers in Brazil. The FPSO Guanabara MV31 stood out as the main oil and gas producer in 2024, maintaining the position it achieved in 2023. The FPSOs Carioca MV30, Almirante Barroso MV32 and Cidade de Itaguaí MV26 were in third, fifth and tenth place, respectively.
“This result fills us with pride. More than 26% of the national oil and gas production in 2024 passed through the MODEC fleet, with more than 1.1 million barrels of oil equivalent produced per day, on average. This is the result of the dedication of our teams, the partnership with our customers and the robust technical structure we have in Brazil to respond to operational needs”, explains Rodrigo Rocha, Business Development Manager at MODEC.
Pre-salt record holders
The FPSO Guanabara MV31, which has had the highest average daily production in the pre-salt since August 2023, achieved a new record in November. The vessel, located in the Mero field, produced 184,263.18 bbl/d of oil and 12.04 million m³/d of gas, a historic record for the highest average daily production in Brazil. Until August 2023, the record for the highest daily production belonged to the FPSO Carioca MV30, operated by MODEC, in the Sépia field.
Another record achieved by the MODEC fleet was the fastest time to reach maximum production capacity. The FPSO Almirante Barroso MV32 achieved the milestone in just 146 days after first oil.
Largest producing field
The Tupi field, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, was the largest producer of oil and gas and was responsible for 23.82% of maritime oil production in 2024. In this field, MODEC operates the FPSOs Cidade de Angra dos Reis MV22, Cidade de Mangaratiba MV24 and Cidade de Itaguaí MV26.
