(offshore-energy.biz) Norway-based energy data and intelligence company TGS has launched advanced imaging centers in collaboration with Brazilian state-owned energy giant Petrobras to improve subsurface data interpretation for the Campos and Santos basins offshore Brazil.
TGS noted that these centers, based at Petrobras’ Rio de Janeiro offices, will focus on ocean bottom nodes (OBNs) and 4D imaging to improve reservoir monitoring and exploration efforts in Brazil’s offshore sector.
The imaging centers integrate TGS’ 4D Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) technology, delivering high-resolution subsurface insights. According to TGS, this approach supports Petrobras in refining exploration strategies, optimizing production, and increasing resource recovery.
Additionally, hybrid 4D solutions, streamer, OBN, and ocean bottom cable (OBC) data, are said to be incorporated for a more comprehensive geological understanding.
