(eixos)The Senai Institute for Innovation in Renewable Energy (ISI-ER) and Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Mingyang signed a cooperation agreement on Thursday (24) for activities related to the offshore wind market in Rio Grande do Norte
The intention is to develop local capacity. The state has 25.5 GW in projects with licensing requests from Ibama, out of a total of 234 GW in potential projects on the Brazilian coast.
According to ISI-ER, studies are planned that range from prospecting to decommissioning of wind turbines installed at sea, in addition to assessments of the supply chain and technological and logistical routes in the sector.
The partnership will initially be valid for five years.
“On the one hand, the company begins to understand the potential for developing offshore solutions for Brazil and, on the other, Senai gains a better understanding of the technologies being used in the offshore environment for energy generation around the world,” comments the director of Senai in Rio Grande do Norte and ISI-ER, Rodrigo Mello.
