(PN) Petrobras officially launched (14) the invitation to tender for the FPSO P-86, which will be part of the revitalization project for the Marlim Sul and Marlim Leste fields. The opening of the envelopes with the bidders’ proposals is expected to take place only on April 8 of next year. However, as has been seen in recent bids by the oil company, it is possible that this deadline will be postponed. The complete documentation of the invitation to tender (nº 7004319880) is available on the Petronect website.
The model chosen for contracting the vessel was the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer), in which the winning bidder builds and operates the vessel for an initial period and then transfers the plant to the oil company. According to Petrobras, the choice of this model was made due to the financing difficulties encountered by suppliers, which would make the option of the chartering format unfeasible.
At the same time, the company also created an internal working group to discuss ways to increase productivity in the Campos Basin, an area that will complete 50 years of production in November. Currently, according to the company’s president, Magda Chambriard, productivity in the basin is 17%. Petrobras also brought forward the forecast for the start of production of the FPSO Maria Quitéria, in the Espírito Santo portion of the Campos Basin, to October. Previously, the unit would only produce its first oil in 2025.
Looking at other basins, Petrobras is expected to launch new bids to contract the two platforms for the Sergipe Deep Waters (SEAP) project. According to the company’s Exploration and Production Director, Sylvia Anjos, the idea is to present the notice to the market within 15 days, previous attempts to contract the SEAP I and SEAP II units were unsuccessful.
In the Santos Basin pre-salt, the oil company’s idea is to put the FPSO Almirante Tamandaré, in the Búzios field, into operation this year or, at the latest, in early 2025. Meanwhile, the FPSO Duque de Caxias, in the Mero field, is also expected to begin operations in 2024, but a date has not yet been set.
