Ibama grants operating license for FPSO Maria Quiteria in the Jubarte Field

(PN) The Brazilian Institute of the Environment (Ibama) has granted the operating license for FPSO Maria Quitéria, which is already installed in the Jubarte field, in the Espírito Santo portion of the Campos Basin. The platform was only supposed to start operating in 2025, but Petrobras brought forward the first oil from the unit, which should be extracted by the end of this year.

The platform will have the capacity to produce up to 100 thousand barrels of oil per day (bpd), process up to 5 million m³ of gas per day and inject around 330 thousand bpd of water, connected to eight production wells and eight injection wells. In addition, the unit will be equipped with decarbonization technologies, including a combined cycle power generation system and a FGRU (closed flare system).

With a height of 156 meters up to the flare and 333 meters long, the platform will be installed in a water depth of 1,385 meters.

The platform vessel will have the capacity to generate 100 MW of energy, enough to supply a city with 230 thousand inhabitants. This will be the first vessel in the Petrobras fleet to incorporate heat recovery steam generation (HRSG) as part of the combined cycle power generation system.
