(PN) The Brazilian Environmental Institute (Ibama) issued approval for the use of support ships CBO Endeavour, Normand Maximus and Siem Emerald during the installation of the platform ship (FPSO) Almirante Tamandare. The expectation is that the first oil from the FPSO will be extracted in 2025. The vessel is still under construction by SBM Offshore at a shipyard in China.
It is worth remembering that the FPSO Almirante Tamandare will be the sixth definitive production unit in the Buzios field, in the pre-salt Santos Basin. The platform will be the largest to operate on the Brazilian coast, with a daily processing capacity of 225 thousand barrels of oil and 12 million m³ of natural gas.
The project foresees the interconnection of 15 wells to the FPSO: there will be six oil producers, six water and gas injectors, one gas injector and two more convertible wells. They will be connected to the platform ship through a subsea infrastructure made up of rigid production and injection pipelines and flexible service pipelines.
