Petrobras plans to drill three new well in 2025 in the Campos Basin pre-salt

(PN) The general manager of the Petrobras Business Unit in the Campos Basin (UN-BC), Alex Murteira Celem, revealed that the company intends to drill three wells in the Campos Basin pre-salt in 2025. The news was announced by the executive during the Macaé Energy event, co-hosted by the Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro (Firjan), Sebrae RJ and Macaé City Hall.

The manager highlighted three blocks acquired by the company in the Campos Basin, which will begin to be explored in the first half of next year: Forno, Agua Marinha and Norte de Bravo. “We are going to drill the first exploratory well in marine waters in the pre-salt of the Campos Basin, and we are very hopeful, given the knowledge we have in the area, that this will be the future of the basin,” said Celem.

He also commented on two new FPSOs, which will arrive in the Campos Basin, with the capacity to produce 20% more, in addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 55%.The Campos Basin Renewal Plan also foresees investments to almost double current oil production in the region by 2028, in addition to several decommissioning actions that will generate US$26 billion.

“It’s a new world, a new business that’s opening up, and it’s just starting. The Campos Basin is once again being looked at, showing its strength, and standing out again for its technological development with the revitalization of mature fields”, he concluded.
