(PN) Petrobras is intensifying its exploratory work in the Campos Basin. The company recently started drilling well 4-BRSA-1392D-ESS, in the Jubarte field, in a water depth of 968 meters. The activity is being carried out with the Brava Star drillship, from Constellation. The new well is classified as Adjacent Pioneer Exploration, which is drilled to test the occurrence of oil or natural gas in an area adjacent to a discovery, in a prospect with geological similarity and geographic proximity.
The Jubarte field, discovered in 2001, is part of Parque das Baleias, together with the Baleia Anã, Cachalote, Caxaréu, Pirambú and Mangangá fields. In 2019, Petrobrás and the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) signed an agreement to extend the concession period until 2056 for the new unified Jubarte field, which enables the implementation of the new production system of the Parque das Baleias Integrated Project, in addition to complementary projects in the area.
As we reported earlier, the new Jubarte FPSO, named Maria Quitéria, began its journey towards Brazil. The platform is expected to arrive in the country during the second quarter of 2024. The FPSO will be interconnected to 17 wells, nine of which are oil producers and eight water injectors, through underwater infrastructure consisting of flexible pipelines, electro-hydraulic umbilicals and wet Christmas trees.
