Subsea7 announces four new PLSV contracts with Petrobras

(TN) Subsea7, a global leader in the delivery of offshore projects and technology for the energy sector, confirmed, after a competitive process, the signing of four long-term daily rate contracts for engineering vessels (PLSVs) with Petrobras. The agreements, which will begin next year, have a combined value of more than US$1.25 billion and will be recorded in Subsea7’s second-half order book.

The contracts refer to the vessels Seven Rio, Seven Sun and Seven Waves. With the first two, the duration is three years. With Seven Waves, the time is four years.

For Yann Cottart, Vice-President of Subsea7 Region Brazil, the new contracts are further proof of the success of the partnership with Petrobras. “We have a successful, long-term relationship with Petrobras. Since 1998, our partnership has covered both PLSV activities and major greenfield programs. We look forward to continuing to work together in developing complex and challenging projects in offshore depth, always with the highest standard of security and reliability”, concludes the executive.
