(TN) The Caraguatatuba (UTGCA) and Cabiúnas (UTGCAB) natural gas processing units, belonging to Petrobras, broke a gas processing record from the Santos Basin Pre-Salt, in September. During the period, the mark of 28.96 million m³/d of gas was reached, surpassing the previous record of 27.27 million m³/d reached in March 2022.
Currently, gas from the pre-salt represents 77% of the total received in these units. The two units receive products from offshore production fields, both Pre-Salt and Post-Salt, from pipes called flow routes, which connect the offshore production fields to the onshore units.
UTGCA’s performance during the period was highlighted, as it contributed decisively to the record use of the pipeline that connects the fields in the Pre-Salt Region to the Mexilhão platform. The unit’s average daily processing volume was 9.8 million m3, close to the maximum capacity of the drainage pipeline that connects the pre-salt region with Route 1.
According to the Director of the Industrial Processes and Products area at Petrobras, William França, the processing of pre-salt gas represents a major challenge for the company. “The improvement in the use of our processing assets contributes decisively to Petrobras’ Oil and Gas Production and to a greater supply to the market”, concludes França.
