(PetroleoHoje) Petrobras found signs of oil in the Três Marias discovery, which was originally notified to the ANP with only signs of gas. The regulatory agency informed that there was an update of the information sent in the first Notice of Discovery, which was made available on the ANP website in January this year.
The Três Marias wildcat well (1-BRSA-1382D-RJS) began drilling in October last year, by Diamond’s Ocean Courage rig. Both gas and petroleum fluids were found in the same water depth of 2,223 m.
The Três Marias area was acquired in the 4th ANP Sharing Round, held in 2018, by the consortium formed by Petrobras (30%), Chevron (30%) and Shell (40%). The block is in its first exploratory period, which expires in December 2025.
Petrobras plans to install an FPSO in Três Marias, with operations starting in November 2028. The vessel designed for the area will have a plant capable of producing 150,000 bpd, with 16 wells, eight producers and eight injectors ( WAG type).
The semi-submersible Ocean Courage will also be responsible for the campaign in the Dois Irmãos area and in the surroundings of Sapinhoá, located in the pre-salt layer of Campos and Santos, respectively.
