Petrobras to pre-qualify companies to build two FPSOs for Sepia and Atapu areas

(PN) Petrobras has released a notice to the market to pre-qualify companies for the construction of two more FPSO-type platforms, with the capacity to process 180,000 barrels of oil per day and 7 million m³/day of gas. The new FPSOs will be directed to the Sépia and Atapu areas, as is speculated. As is known, Petrobras leads the consortia that bought the excess volumes from the fields in the 2nd Round of the Transfer of Rights, carried out at the end of last year. According to the statement, companies interested in the new contracts will have to send documentation by Feb 25th. Pre-qualified groups will be automatically approved.

As a reminder, the last 180,000 bpd units contracted by Petrobras were the P-78, destined for the 7th module of Buzios, and the P-79, which is being built by Daewoo/Saipem, destined for the 8th module of the field. Petrobras coordinates the bidding process for contracting the P-80, the super FPSO that will have the capacity to produce 225,000 bpd and will comprise the 9th module in Buzios, which will come into operation in another four years
