Production in the Transfer of Rights reached an average volume of 1.003 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in November

Production in the Transfer of Rights reached an average volume of 1.003 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in November. This was the first time that the fields in the area reached the level above 1 million barrels per day. With this volume, the Transfer of Rights reached a share of 27.05% of the national total in the month (3.7 million barrels of oil equivalent per day). It was the highest percentage of participation in national production ever recorded by fields in the region.

The fields of the Transfer of Rights that currently produce are Buzios, Atapu, Sul de Tupi and Sepia. Buzios produced 738.8 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in November. Atapu already registered 157.7 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day. Finally, Sul de Tupi and Sepia produced 93,800 barrels of oil equivalent per day and 43,400 barrels of oil equivalent per day, respectively.

The Transfer of Rights is a regime of direct contracting of specific areas of oil from the Union to Petrobras. In 2010, the state-owned company won the right to extract up to five billion barrels of oil equivalent from non-granted areas located in the pre-salt. With the verification of the existence of total volumes of recoverable oil above these five billion barrels in four oil fields (Búzios, Atapu, Itapu and Sépia), it was decided that the excess volumes would be auctioned. The First Round of the Transfer of Rights took place in 2019, when the surpluses from Buzios and Itapu were sold. The Second Round, in which the rights for Sepia and Atapu are offered, is being auctioned today.
