(PetroNoticias) Petrobras can start the first operational tests to receive natural gas coming from the pre-salt at Gaslub, the former Comperj. The National Petroleum Agency (ANP) has already given the green light and authorized the start of these operations. After this phase, the tests of systems that will use natural gas to generate steam for energy. The water treatment plant, the substations responsible for distributing electricity to the project, the Integrated Control Center (ICC), the auxiliary utility systems and the flare, where hydrocarbons are burned for relief, are already in operation. .
As a reminder, the Route 3 Integrated Project will drain and process 21 million cubic meters per day of natural gas from the pre-salt area of the Santos Basin and involves the construction of the Natural Gas Processing Unit, gas pipelines and utility systems. Its commercial operation is scheduled to start in 2022. For the natural gas market, this event will have an extraordinary gain, with a tendency to reduce the price of gas.
Petrobras recently signed protocols of intent with the government of the state of Rio de Janeiro, aiming at carrying out actions and studies for the implantation of an industrial complex in the surroundings of Gaslub. The idea is to create conditions to attract companies that can use the infrastructure and inputs available in the complex.
Recently, the president of the state-owned company, Joaquim Silva e Luna, said that the hub will be a strategic asset for Petrobras. “The protocols already signed for the industrial development of the surroundings of GasLub will contribute to solving issues related to the previous project, taking advantage of past investments and bringing economic results for Itaboraí and surrounding municipalities”, said the president of the state-owned company. “We see GasLub as an important strategic asset for Petrobras and for society,” he added.
