2019 Maritime Support Fleet Stable

The fleet of maritime support in Brazilian waters, at the end of December, totaled 366 vessels, being 324 of Brazilian flag and 42 of foreign flags. 89% of the offshore support fleet in Brazil is made up of Brazilian flag boats and 11% of foreign flags. Not all units are in operation, as there are around 70 support boats waiting to be contracted.

In relation to December 2015, 149 foreign flag vessels were decommissioned and 78 Brazilian flag were incorporated. The monthly report by Abeam (Brazilian Association of Maritime Support Companies) informs that 37 vessels, originally from foreign flags, had their flags changed to the Brazilian flag.

According to the Abeam report, the fleet at the end of December was composed of 47% of PSVs (transport of supplies) and OSRVs (combating oil spills), totaling 174 boats. Another 19% were LH (handling lines and moorings) and SVs (mini suppliers), which correspond to 69 boats. AHTS (anchor handling) totaled 49 units in the period, while 24 support boats were FSVs (fast cargo providers) and crew boats (crew transport), 16 PLSVs (launching lines) and 13 RSVs (vessels equipped with rovs).

At the end of December, the shipping company with the most vessels, in operation or awaiting contracting, was Bram Offshore / Alfanave, with 51 units (two of which are foreign), followed by CBO (32 vessels, all with Brazilian flag) and Starnav (30, both with national flag). According to the report, DOF / Norskan had 23 units in its fleet during this period, 18 of which were Brazilian flag and five foreign, while 23 vessels were part of the Wilson Sons Ultratug fleet, all under Brazilian flag.

In November last year, the fleet had 324 Brazilian flag vessels and 41 foreign flags.
