Weatherford signs contract with Petrobras

Weatherford has signed a contract with Petrobras to supply the oil company with 24 deepwater safety valves. Lasting four years, the deal involves equipment capable of withstanding pressures up to 10,000 psi and water depths up to 3,658 m.

Operating in 80 countries, Weatherford provides solutions, technology and services to the oil and gas industry. The company has 30 active contracts with Petrobras, most of them for well services (equipment rental, connection and disconnection services, completion, among others).

In September, Weatherford signed a $ 87 million contract to provide fishing and well intervention services with Petrobras.

The US company is in the process of restructuring. It is expected that the plan, which aims to reduce the company’s debt of $ 5.8 billion, will occur before the end of the year.
