Decommissioning Winning Bidder Disqualified

Sept 30, 2019

Best placed in Petrobras’ bid to contract the decommissioning of the fixed platforms of the Cação field in the Espírito Santo Basin, EPIC Applied Technologies was disqualified.

According to sources, the decision of the oil company was motivated by the fact that the US group EPIC Companies – of which the company is part – has filed for creditor protection with the US Justice.

The bid submitted by the company was $ 30.1 million, 20% lower than the bid by the second place, William Jacob Management ($ 37.8 million).

Asked if Petrobras is negotiating with William Jacob, the oil company only replied that “the bidding is in progress.”
