Official Letter 119/2016/CVM/SEP/GEA-1

“Dear Officer,

We refer to the news item published today in the Radar Online column, under the title: “TCU extends investigation on Petrobras’ headquarters in Vitória”, including the following statements:

The TCU extended by 90 days the investigation it has been carrying out on the construction of Petrobras’ headquarters in Vitória, Espírito Santo state.

With an initial budget of R$90 million, the headquarters ended up costing the updated amount of R$765 million.

In view of the above, we request that you clarify whether the information in question is true, and if so, why it was not disclosed through a Material Fact, as well as comment on other information deemed relevant to the issue.”

Clarification

The cost of the construction of Petrobras’ headquarters in Vitória was questioned previously by the TCU-SECEX-ES in 2008, and responded to in the same year by Petrobras, there having been no further developments.

In the last quarter of 2015, Petrobras was informed by the TCU-SECEX-ES that this matter was being investigated again. However, the TCU did not officially inform the Company of the extension of the period for investigating the headquarters’ construction in Vitória.

It is worth clarifying that Petrobras has been providing all the information and documents requested by the monitoring agency and is awaiting the completion of this audit.

Any facts deemed relevant on the matter will be timely disclosed to the market.
