New Traces Of Oil In Libra

Petrobras registered finding traces of oil while drilling the 3-BRSA-1322-RJS well in the Libra area in the Santos Basin pre-salt layer. This was the second time the company reported traces of oil during the well drilling operations, which is the first firm discovery as part of the area’s evaluation plan.

The 3-BRSA-1322-RJS well began to be drilled in September 2015 in water depth of 1,911 m, by the West Carina rig. According to the latest data, drilling has not yet been completed.

The Libra consortium is formed by Petrobras (40%), Total (20%), Shell (20%), CNOCC (10%) and CNPC (10%).
