Petrobras – Clarification on News: Investment in 2016

Rio de Janeiro, January 7, 2016 – Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. – Petrobras hereby responds to Official Letter 61/2016-SAE, which requests the following clarifications:

Official Letter 61/2016-SAE

“A news item published by Agência Estado – Broadcast on January 7, 2016 states, among other information, that:

ü Petrobras’ budget this year will be R$75.6 billion, 9% lower than in 2015;

ü of this amount, the oil company plans to invest R$6.74 billion to resume the construction of the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex (Comperj).

We have not identified this information among the documents the company delivered through the Empresas.NET System.  If this information has already been provided, please inform us in which document and on which pages it can be found, as well as the date on which it has been delivered”.

Clarification

As announced on October 5, 2015, the estimated investment for 2016 is US$ 19 billion, which represents a decline in relation to the estimate for 2015.

As disclosed on June 29, 2015, in its 2015-2019 Business and Management Plan, the Company plans to investment in gas reception and treatment in Comperj.

Any fact related to this matter deemed to be material will be timely disclosed to the market.
