Equinor and the Brazilian company GranEnergia have signed a contract for the Offshore Hosting Services for the Peregrino II Offshore Brazil Project. Peregrino is Equinor’s largest operation outside of Norway and has a production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil per day. The field is located approximately 85 km off the coast of Brazil, in the Campos basin, in a depth of 100 m. The Pelegrino Phase II involves the addition of a third fixed wellhead to the field, extending its productive life and adding 273 million barrels of recoverable reserves. The start of the contract is scheduled for December 2019 / January 2020.
The agreement was made at Equinor’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and is for a period of 6 months, with options for extensions. During the ceremony, Mauro de Andrade, senior vice president of Equinor, and Miguel Gradin, CEO of GranEnergia, reinforced their commitment to the success of the project. Gradin said the contract further strengthens the relationship between Norway and Brazil. Olympia, GranEnergia’s compact semisubular accommodation (CSS) vessel, has been operating for 4.5 years for Petrobras in Brazil. During this period, the vessel had no time-wasting incident (LTI), great versatility connecting to semisubs, FPSOs and fixed production platforms and low fuel consumption. Venus, the new CSS from GranEnergia, operated for Total in West Africa with the same excellent uptime and SMS performance.
